Biography

Demir "D.J." Boldin is entering his second season as the head coach of the Storm football program and third overall in 2023. He previously served as an Offensive Assistant and Wide Receivers Coach in 2021 for the Storm.

Boldin came to Lake Erie College after two seasons at his alma mater, Pahokee High School in Florida. At Pahokee, Boldin served as the Head Football Coach and was featured in the docuseries “4th and Forever: Muck City.” As Head Coach, Boldin aided 15 student-athletes to earn full-ride scholarships to FBS and FCS colleges and Universities. 

Prior to Pahokee, Boldin coached at two high schools in the greater Memphis area. He served as Offensive Coordinator and Director of Football Operations.

Boldin spent 3 years as an Assistant Football Coach in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers. While in the NFL, Boldin worked with the Offensive Line where he helped All-Pro Joe Staley and Mike Iupati achieve their highest honor amongst peers, being selected to play in the Pro Bowl. Also, while working with the Tight Ends, Boldin helped All-Pro Vernon Davis achieve a personal best season of 13 Receiving Touchdowns.   

In the Spring of 2013, Boldin coached with the PDFL (Professional Development Football League). While coaching in the PDFL he served as the Offensive Coordinator and Wide Receivers coach.

Prior to starting his coaching career, Boldin played Wide Receiver at Wake Forest University. He earned First-Team All-ACC honors as a Freshman and Senior after recording 81 receptions, 848 yards, and three touchdowns during his senior season in 2008. Boldin signed as an Undrafted Free Agent with the Detroit Lions in 2009 and would later finish his playing career with a stint in the Canadian Football League with the Toronto Argonauts from 2010-12.

Boldin graduated from Wake Forest University in the spring of 2008 with a degree in Sociology. He is the younger brother of former NFL Wide Receiver Anquan Boldin. Boldin and his wife Sasha have two children, Madison and Dallas.
