A former linebacker who led the Indianapolis Colts to victory in Super Bowl XLI, Cato June is the Running Backs Coach and Head of Football Operations at Howard University.

June, a scholar and an athlete, widely regarded as the best high school football player in the District of Columbia, also excelled at basketball, track and field and baseball, earning accolades and distinctions in academia as well as sports during his high school career. Selected by Gatorade, USA Today and the Washington Post as District Player of the Year, in his senior year, he was also named Parade All-American.

Recruited by numerous schools for his all-around athletic ability and leadership skills, June elected to play football at the University of Michigan from 1998 -2002 where he received honorable mention as an All-Big Ten Conference player despite injuries.

A sixth round draft choice for the Indianapolis Colts in 2003, he was named an All-PRO selection in 2005 and was heralded as the #1 tackler for the Colts during the 2006-2007 season, helping lead the team to its 2006 NFL championship victory.

During his seven-year professional career, June also played for the Houston Texans, Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers with career highlights including 499 tackles, 3.0 sacks and 12 interceptions.

After retiring from the NFL, June returned to the gridiron at Anacostia High School where as head coach he worked to motivate kids and serve as a role model for perseverance and success before talking his talents to CH Flowers High School as the Head Football Coach. An advocate for safety, he serves as an NFL Ambassador, working with USA Football to create a safer game for kids, an issue that he tackles locally through his All Pro Football camp in Washington, DC. The program focuses on teaching best practice and safe football fundamentals to over 200 children each summer.
