Though this season marks his first as a CFL coach, October’s experience with the Canadian game goes back to 1999 when signed on with the Montreal Alouettes. He would win a Grey Cup with the Edmonton Eskimos where he played under current REDBLACKS Head Coach Rick Campbell.

During his collegiate career, October starred for the University of Richmond Spiders where he was a four-time All-Atlantic 10 defensive back.

The Guyana-born October now lives in Ottawa with his wife and two daughters.
