Biography
Darren Paige was named WMU running backs coach in March of 2024.Paige brings 14 years of coaching experience to the Broncos, with many stops in the Midwest. Most recently he was the running backs coach at Army. At Army, he coached Kanye Udoh who went on to be named the ECAC Freshman of the Year and the first freshman in program history to rush for 100 yards in back-to-back games.
Prior to that he spent two seasons as the running backs coach at Cincinnati, two seasons at Eastern Michigan as a wide receivers coach, and a year each at Stony Brook and Holy Cross. Paige also spent four seasons as the wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Midwestern State and a year as a graduate assistant at Kent State.
While with the Bearcats, he coached fifth-round draft pick Jerome Ford. Cincinnati averaged 5.2 yards per carry, 18th-best in the nation. With the Bearcats he helped coach the team to an AAC Championship and a spot in the 2021 College Football Playoffs.
