Biography

Chris Norris joined Ole Miss Football in 2026 as Assistant Special Teams Coach. He arrives in Oxford after stints at Arkansas, Western Carolina, and Oregon.

Norris came to Eugene after spending three seasons at Webber International as the special teams coordinator and running backs coach. In 2015, Norris helped the Warriors rank fifth nationally in rushing yards per game and 12th in total rushing. Before arriving in Eugene, Norris spent the spring of 2016 in the recruiting office at South Florida. 

Prior to going to Webber International, Norris spent eight years (2006-13) as the running backs and special teams coach at Southeast Missouri, consistently helping the Redhawks field one of the top special teams groups in the FCS. 

Norris also had coaching stops at Jacksonville University (2003-05) as running backs coach, Tennessee State (2000-02) as special teams coordinator and running backs coach and Northern State University (1999) as special teams coordinator and tight ends coach. 

During his playing days, Norris was a fullback from 1991-95 at Nebraska, helping the Cornhuskers go 47-3 during his time with a 1994 national championship. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Nebraska-Omaha in 1999. He and his wife, Tracee, have one daughter, Breeze.
