The Minnesota Vikings hired Chili Davis in February 2026 as Assistant Special Teams Coordinator, marking a return to the NFL after spending the 2025 season in the Big Ten.
Davis spent the 2025 season with the Maryland Terps as a special teams assistant after a stint with the LA Rams and spending the 2023 season with Kansas State as the program's special teams quality control coach. He has also had coaching stints with collegiate programs such as Florida A&M as a special teams coordinator (2022) and Washington as a special teams analyst (2021). Davis also mentored receivers and tights ends along with special teams responsibilities at New Mexico State (2017-20). He spent time as a graduate assistant at Fordham (2016), a running backs coach at Louisiana Tech (2015), and served in various roles at his alma mater, Campbell (2013-14).
